Everyone needs a VISA to travel to Nepal (available on arrival), and we haven't included international flights in this tour. If you have any doubts, just contact our team and we'll talk it over with you.
Bring your camera! Lot's to be remembered on this tour and sometimes a picture will say 1000 words (especially if you are photographing a recipe)
Take out travel insurance, starting before you take your flight.
Remember to pack clothing that is appropriate, read up on Nepal before the adventure and most importantly come to this beautiful country with patience, good humour and a smile.
This tour is designed for all of you foodies out there. We are going to give you an in-depth look into Newari cuisine, styles of cooking, local and adapted foods and how to source and prepare the vast array of flavours and combinations available in Nepal.
We'll start in Kathmamdu where you can shake off the Jet-Lag by exploring the Thamel quarter on foot. You will have a cooking course in Kathmamdu, a guided tour of "Nepal's Flavours", a chance to see the historic parts of the valley, panoramic views of the HImalayas in Nagarkot, a visit to Bhaktapur's vegetable plantations, home-cooked meals, a tour of the local restaurants, and a wonderful homestay experience.
Day 1 > Arrive in Kathmandu as per your international flight details. Today's activities will depend on your arrival time.
Day 2 > Today in Kathmandu, with your local chef by your side, head to the markets to purchase (and bargain for) your raw ingredients. With the help of your personal chef, prepare some wonderful and authentic dishes for lunch. Enjoy an afternoon at leisure. Later on, enjoy a guided "Flavours of Nepal" food tour.
Day 3 > What is a visit to Kathmandu without some sightseeing? Today enjoy visits to Durbar Square, Bouddhanath Stupa, Swayambunath and of course sample some typical and fusion foods of the city.
Day 4 > We continue our adventure over to Bhaktapur, where you are invited for lunch at a local household. Learn the recipes and cultivation methods of the local famers before heading to Nagarkot, a timless hill-station with views of some of the world's highest mountains. Stay in a local camp and enjoy the sunset.
Day 5 > Making our way slowly back to Kathmandu, we will arrive to be welcomed by a local family in a traditional homestay. Enjoy some ethnic "Thakali" food then later on visit some of the villages scattered around the valley. Why not lend a hand to your host family in preparing the evening meal?
Day 6 > Your last day in Kathmandu will be free to do some shopping, explore the Thamel quarter, and have a farewell dinner at one of Kathmandu's favourite restaurants, complete with local music and dance.
Day 7 > Today is your departure. Our team will take you to the airport with time to catch your international flight home. Services will end here.
